Shul Leadership Skills Workshops

Washington Square Minyan is excited to offer free classes on skills for davening and layning. We hope that when we are all back in person in full force, even more people will be empowered to participate and lead. All are welcome to join.

Leading davening: “Kehilah, Kavanah, and Confidence” April 18 at 10am with Becca Sendor-Israel (Class is now Full)
Gain confidence in your ability to lead a kahal in a spirited communal davening and learn some tips and tricks on presence, common pitfalls, and practice points!  
This is a class for those already comfortable with the text of Shabbat davening and familiar with some basic nusach/tunes. 

Beginners' Davening Nusach: Shacharit: May 9 at 7:30pm (7:30 class is now full) and 9:00pm with Ariel Marks
A class to learn the basics of Nusach and how to apply it. Our goal is for you to become a confident davener and lead! We will start with Shacharit.

Beginners' Layning: date TBA
An introduction to Torah trope (ta'amei hamikra) for those comfortable reading Hebrew. It's never too late to learn how to layn!

These classes are supported by the Arev grant program through the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts.
